- Greet the students warmly.
- Briefly review any related previous lessons as a warm-up.
2. **Introduction to Sharp Objects:**
- "Today, we are going to talk about something very important – sharp objects!"
- Show a few pictures of common sharp objects and ask the students if they recognize any of them.
**Activity 1: Identifying Sharp Objects (10 minutes):**
1. **Picture Identification:**
- Show each picture of sharp objects one by one.
- Ask the students what the object is and if they have seen it before.
2. **Cardboard Cut-Out Activity:**
- Provide cardboard cut-outs of the sharp objects.
- Let students handle the cut-outs (they are safe) while you explain the real ones can hurt.
**Activity 2: Safety Rules Concerning Sharp Objects (10 minutes):**
1. **Discussion:**
- Explain that sharp objects can be dangerous and we must be very careful around them.
- Introduce simple safety rules: “Don’t touch sharp objects without an adult’s permission,” “Always use scissors with a grown-up,” etc.
2. **Role-Play Activity:**
- Use Band-aids for role-playing. Pretend someone has a small cut because they didn’t follow the safety rules.
- Let students practice "helping" by pretending to put a band-aid on the “injured” person.
**Activity 3: Creative Poster Making (5 minutes):**
1. **Poster Board Activity:**
- Create a simple safety poster as a class.
- Let children glue the pictures of sharp objects onto the poster board.
- Write basic safety rules on the poster with their help.
- Allow students to color or decorate the poster with crayons/markers.
**Conclusion (5 minutes):**
1. **Recap and Reflection:**
- Recap the sharp objects discussed and the safety rules learned.
- Ask students to name one sharp object and one safety rule they learned today.
2. **Q&A:**
- Answer any questions the students might have.
- Praise their participation and remind them to always be careful around sharp objects.
3. **Closing:**
- "Great job today, everyone! Remember to always be careful and ask for help from grown-ups when you see sharp objects."
---
**Assessment:**
- Observe students' participation in activities and role-play.
- Listen to their responses during Q&A and activities to ensure understanding.
**Follow-up:**
- Encourage children to talk with their parents about what they learned.
- Provide parents with a brief handout about sharp object safety to reinforce the lesson at home.
**Note for Educators:**
- Ensure the classroom environment is safe and all materials used for activities are child-friendly.
- Maintain a calm and positive demeanor to keep children engaged and comfortable during the lesson.
